In spite of technological developments, the volume of paperwork generated and stored by businesses and organisations seems to be growing. In the corporate world, legislation such as Sarbannes Oxley or the adherence to Data Protection rules has heightened the awareness of safe Records Management, and the risks associated with losing valuable data.

But loss of data is only part of the problem. All the paperwork needs to be housed securely, in most cases for seven or more years. The amount of space required for archiving the material can be expensive, and in many cases would be better used for profit-making purposes. Our Scanning Suite has the capacity to convert high volumes of documents, large format drawings and microfilm. Over recent years, MTL has invested in industry-leading scanning equipment from Kodak, Colortrac and Wicks and Wilson in order to cement our position as one of the UK’s leading outsourced scanning centres.

MTL Document Services has project managed a wide array of scanning contracts in both the private and public sectors. Typically this will involve the conversion of high volume backlogs, often containing both paper-based and microfilmed images. The technology deployed allows us to deliver an integrated solution regardless of the media being scanned.

Scanned images are available in most industry standard file formats including TIFF, PDF and JPEG, and mastered onto media including CD, DVD or USB hard drive. Retrieval can be undertaken using any of MTL’s software solutions, or through integration with a Client’s existing applications.
