Three contract awards assist our best year of trading.

It's been quite a while since we last posted some news from here at MTL, and we can scarcely believe that 2007 is approaching its final quarter.

2007 began very well for the company, with the award of three large backscanning contracts, two achieved through competitive tender. The first was the backscanning of 18,000 building control and planning files for a local authority on the North East. We acquired an additional drawing scanner to assist with the sheer number of large format plans that requried scanning.

Our second contract award was a 3-year contract for a University in the West Midlands. This has provided a variety of document types for us to scan from payroll records, graduate files and graduation records to invoices. Combined, with our ongoing contract for a local authority in Cambridge, we now have a genuine UK-wide Client base.

Securing these additional contracts allowed us to invest in more document scanning eqiupment and we now currently have 9 production scanners, and 2 drawing scanners. Importantly, both our capacity to process backlog scanning contracts has increased, whilst being able to maintain speedy service levels to our regular Clients.

The management were pleased to report that our Year End in June was the best year of trading the company had seen since our takeover in 1998.

We look forward to announcing a major new venture and partnership for MTL next month.
